Open to dogs of all ages. Class will focus on practical skills to help your dog behave politely at home and on-the-go, including the following:
Our goal is to help you learn to communicate with your dog more effectively – giving you a happy, well-behaved companion!
The AKC’s Canine Good Citizen program is designed to test dogs and owners on the skills they need to behave politely in public. This class will build on basic obedience skills introduced in our manners class, with a focus on teaching and practicing the exercises required for CGC certification – including greeting a friendly stranger, sitting politely for petting, response to basic commands (sit, down, stay, come), and loose leash walking.
New to the fun sport of dog agility? Join our beginner class, open to dogs of all ages and skill levels! Have a blast as you and your dog learn to run an obstacle course including jumps, tunnels, see-saws, A-frames, and more. This class will focus on teaching your dog how to work each obstacle, as well as basic handling skills to help the two of you work as a team.
This class will build on the skills introduced in our beginner class, as we transition to more off-leash sequencing and intermediate level handling exercises. We will also begin fine-tuning your dog’s performance in areas such as jumping technique, 2-on/2-off contact behavior, and response to your hand signals and body cues in preparation for running full courses.
At this level, dogs and handlers have mastered each of the individual obstacles (including full- height teeter and weave poles) and are able to run short-to-medium length sequences off-leash with turns, side-changes, etc. as needed.
The advanced class will focus on learning to run competition-level full courses, as well as advanced handling maneuvers with an emphasis on greater speed and precision.
Students are welcome to attend agility trials with us when their dogs are ready, or can opt to take the class purely for fun.
